School Competency Connections

The GLOW School program meets many school core competency objectives. We are proud of the fact that the GLOW Program is currently being offered worldwide.

Most school districts across North America and beyond, have integrated a social emotional learning (SEL) component  into their provincial curriculum or State Standards. Research tells us that strong SEL skills strengthen youth coping skills when confronted with challenges.

GLOW embeds the process of developing the following three skills into each theme:

»Self-awareness
»Self-control
»Interpersonal skills

One of the Dr. Mitchell’s big asks related to youth programming is: “Are there opportunities for youth leadership?” GLOW is based on Girls Leading Others Wisely. Check out the six benefits of tween and teen youth programs in the adjacent graphic organizer.
